Batemans Bay is a town and a bay in the South Coast region of New South Wales administered by the
Eurobodalla Shire council. The town is located on the Princes Highway about 280km south of Sydney, 760
km north of Melbourne, and it is the closest seaside town to the city of Canberra.
Batemans Bay is a popular holiday destination and also a popular retiree haven, but has begun to attract
younger people seeking affordable housing and a relaxed seaside lifestyle.
The town and region are growing quite quickly, and as a result so is the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual,
Transgender, Intersex and Queer community, thus the need for a branch of Come Out Australia.
The Batemans Bay branch is open to all GLBTIQ people, as well as their families and friends who live,
work, visit or are somehow connected to the region.
Rebellion Batemans Bay will be primarily a social and advocacy group.
